Day 2 marked a significant milestone in Bangladesh Youth Coalition’s journey towards stronger, more representative, and accountable youth-led governance.
The day began with the introduction of eligible candidates, who shared their motivations, leadership priorities, and commitments to BYC. Member organizations then exercised their voting rights through a transparent and participatory election process supervised by the independent Election Commission.
Following the voting, ballots were counted openly in the presence of members and the results were announced, forming BYC’s newly elected leadership across nine Executive Committee positions.
Congratulations to the newly elected leaders:
Coordinator – Youth Engagement: We Can Cox's Bazar
Advocacy & Campaigns Secretary: Alor Dishari
Governance & Organizational Development Secretary: Mission non-violence
Capacity Building & Training Secretary: Greenman
Finance & Resource Mobilization Secretary: SURGE Bangladesh
Policy & Legal Affairs Secretary: Climate Connects
Communications, Media & Outreach Secretary: Ichchey Foundation
Research, Documentation & Knowledge Management Secretary: World Youth Army
Inclusion, Diversity, Gender & Safeguarding Secretary: Ashar Alo Youth Welfare Association
More than an election, the day reflected the collective ownership of BYC members in choosing their leadership and shaping the Coalition’s future. It was a celebration of democratic participation, accountability, and young people’s ability to lead institutions and decisions that affect them.
The BYC EC Election & Special General Meeting 2026 is being implemented by secretariat Youth For Change Bangladesh Foundation, as the Secretariat of BYC, under the “Strengthening Bangladesh Youth Coalition (BYC)” initiative, in collaboration with Plan International Bangladesh under the Shomotay Tarunno: Youth for Equality Project, funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
